While the seller does
not directly identify these snowshoes as U.S. Army snowshoes,
he certainly implies that they are by saying that
they were issued
in the
Aleutian Islands. In fact, they are British, or possibly Canadian.
Careful examination of this pattern snowshoe will generally reveal
a British "Broad Arrow" stamped into the wooden frame
identifying them as British Army issue. They are often marked "Made
in England"
too.
